Full Version: Server blocks all connections from time to time

Don't know if it's the right section to post this message. Please, feel free to move it if not.

I'm running a web server with a few sites on it. CPU is not loaded at all (quad core, way overkill for my traffic). The problem I have is that, from time to time, while surfing on my sites, the connection will just hang and times out after a minute or so.

During the time out, I even tried to SSH to the server but this connection (on a really weird port) is not going through either.

So I think that httpd isn't at fault. It seems that the server just refuses all connections from my IP. A minute after, I can surf normally.

I still have to try to ping the server from my IP and from another web server during those timeouts to see if the server hangs completly or if it just doesn't want to talk to me anymore...

What could it be ? I searched the APF and BFD logs but it doesn't seem to come from their end... wacko.gif

Thanks !

what if you disable APF / BFD...then surf around for a bit.

Does the problem still remain if you try that?

I'll have to try that... The problem is so intermittent that I may not get it though... And I'm a little bit afraid of running the server without APF... mellow.gif
