I have just rented new server and have transfered one site from old server to new one. This site is a portal with active forum.
I have used Cpanels transfer function.
Now, portal works fine. on new server, with joomla and all si great.
Forum is Invision, just like this one, and to some users sometimes it openes forum from the old server, and sometimes it openes forum on new server. forum works on subdomain eydis.fantasy-hr.com. On domain fantasy-hr.com I have changed nameservers to point to new server but it still sometimes openes old server?

Why? and where and how to change that?

I have WHM 11.23.2 cPanel 11.23.6-S27698 REDHAT Enterprise 5.2 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0

How long has it been since the DNS update to point your site records to the new server?
Most of the time it takes 24 hours but I have seen DNS take over 48 hours to fully replicate to all global DNS servers.

Are you sure everything is coded to your domain name and not a specific IP address?
ns1
Well, I don't know where to look for coded files except in config file, and there is none.

DNS changes were done about week ago. I also hoped that it was due to DNS change.

However.
My old hostname was: new.server-ns1.com
New hostname is: server2.server-ns1.com
Recently when I would login in my WHM I would get A record missing for hostname (although I added it).
On domain server-ns1.com I have changed old namservers to new nameservers.

It sounds like one of the nameservers is still active somewhere. What domain is the one having problems? Have you tried querying both nameservesr that it lists directly to see if they are being used?
ns1
The domain that has problems is eydis.fantasy-hr.com, that is subdomain has problems, main domain does not. that's the weird part.

how do i query nameservers? and where from? old server or new server?

*Edit*

A DNS Stuff report stated that it couldn't find any name servers for this domain but that is normal for sub-domains.
I thought I had something for you but never mind.

# dig fantasy-hr.com @ns4.server-ns1.com +short

# dig fantasy-hr.com @ns3.server-ns1.com +short

Both report the same IP here. Is it only for you? It is possible your ISP is caching information somewhere.
ns1
This happens to some members of the forum (subdomain) who one day can load the page, the other cannot.
At first we thought that it was due to browser cachings, at some it is, however at some it is not. I have not had that problem so far.

However, another problem arouse that is I believe connected to this.
On domain narnia.hr that is still active on old server new.server-ns1.com I receive emails as do others and often it reports errors, that server is not there and so on:
QUOTE
Task 'mail.narnia.hr - Receiving' reported error (0x80040900) : 'The server name you entered can not be found on the network (it might be down temporarily). Please verify that you are online and that the server name is correct.'

For a test I have transfered account from old server to new one, but domain should still point to old server since I didn't change nameservers. This just started to happen after new server was on line and after I created hostname, nameservers and so on...

Also one other rather strange problem:
when I try to access WHM via domain www.domain.com/whm I cannot access it "Page not found", but when i enter http://domain.com/whm it works great.

Well, I have corrected the problem with e-mails. It seems that now on old server I am missing A entry for hostname. I have added it and after some time it all seems to be fine... we'll see...
ns1
well, I seem to have found the problem, and thus the solution.

When I was creating new nameservers, I have replaced old nameserver with new one, instead of creating brand new nameserver. that was what created all the confusion.
